Dr. Dawan is the Founder and CEO of In Aim Technologies Corporation.
Born, raised, and educated in Baton Rouge. He is a tenured professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Southern University, having received his Masters of Engineering at Southern, and both Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering and Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering at Louisiana State University.
Dr. Dawan believes that teaching is an act of sharing that continues to play a critical role in the advancement of society. His research involves advanced manufacturing of multi-functional composite materials for energy, aerospace, and personal health applications. Patent-pending proprietary technology derived from his research includes a nanotube-enhanced 3D photoanode, and a 3D-printable carbonated polymer. Prior to working at Southern University, Dr. Dawan served as a Research Associate at the Center for Advanced Microstructures and Devices at LSU for nearly ten years, in the area of microfabrication. Throughout his twenty-plus year career, he has received several awards for his work, published in leading journals, and has presented his research worldwide.
Built from his experiences, Dr. Dawan intends to provide opportunity and elevate the community through enriched STEM activities and manufacturing services.
